Rebecca Ponessa

Rebecca "Becca" Ponessa, '14

Began her rugby career as a freshman in 2011 with no previous rugby experience. Committed to learning the game, Becca took on the challenge of learning to play scrumhalf, as a result of several injuries in the starting scrumhalf in her first season of rugby. She spent the rest of her career as the women's starting scrumhalf and in her first year helped lead the team to an undefeated season.

Becca was a skilled, aware and strategically savvy rugby player who was a leader on every team she played with. She was an extremely competitive athlete, highly skilled rugby scrumhalf and a respected leader of her teammates.
